Conflicted Survival Game:
BEFORE the SHTF!
Conflicted is a Survival Game. Each card in the deck has a scenario that will stretch how you would respond in an SHTF situation. What would you do? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below!
SCENARIO – At the local trading post, a man recognizes you for someone who turned him and his family away when he came begging for help. He starts to yell in the middle of the trading post that he’ll sell information about your bug-out location to the highest bidder.
There are about 300 people doing business there as this scene unfolds. He claims to know your guard rotation schedule, how many people you have in the camp, and the type of supplies you have in storage. People are starting to notice the commotion. It’s time for you to do something. How you handle this situation?

your only option is to leave as soon as possible. set up an ambush to see if he follows you. if he does take him out and anyone with him. rethink your patrol patterns you should be changing them up anyway. be even more cautious with anyone coming near your hideout. periodically send out a person to patrol further out and keep an eye on the trading post. don’t let anyone follow you home.
Two solutions come to mind. If the rule of law has come to an end… draw weapon ,and shoot him right between his “running lights” and ask the crowd if anyone else wants to have a go at me. Second option (should self control get the best of me) is let him rant like a madman, and tell the crowd that since he went off his medications, his schizophrenia has gotten worse and worse. In fact, we had to run him off after he tried to kill a 12 year old girl because ” God told him to”. Then listen to the Intel that he gives the crowd, hurry back to base, warn the others, and change location of OP/LP, guard schedule, and add personnel for security, add noise making alarms etc. etc.
Tell everyone, you never saw this guy in your life. He must be completely nuts, and just trying to scam them.
Increase security at home and be prepared to take action.
Leave and order a drone attack on the building, taking out the snitch if the above suggestions don’t work (and you have a control of a drone with ordnance)
Laugh and smile and keep him going by not saying anything. He will be delt with by the crowd smo will want the info and others will see that he can’t be trusted. Leave and do not hurry or run if he sells out to the highest bidder he will soon be dead, the new owner of the info is not going to let him talk again.
When you get back let all know what happened and using coded radio send out 1500 yard watchers if a small group then you go. If you have a problem then you get to stop it using a bow or crossbow no noise just good aim. If you get them all you will have to use the 3 S’s shoot, shovel, shut up.
We are at the trading Post kind of life I dought many will say boo so carry on and set a bigger perimeter to keep away the unwanted.
I’m gonna take a little from everyone’s ideas starting with asking him who he is, and how he knows me. Shake my head and say “i have never seen you before but my neighbor ran someone off matching your description because he was trying to steal food from their garden” And if he has any noticeable body imperfections ask if that is how he got them….running from neighbor’s gunfire. Muttering (kinda loud) that he must be off his medication to stand in the middle of the crowd and threaten someone like that, how we are all in the same boat trying to survive and I have helped when I could, so I doubt I refused his family assistance IF he truly came to my place, which I sincerely doubt, since I have never seen him before.
Then I would finish my business and walk the opposite direction as where I live….double back after a couple of miles and go home, change guard patterns and set alarms further out.
I would ignore him and continue my business. Anyone dumb enough to listen to the rants of a someone with mental illness would not be a threat to my location.
The interesting thing about this question isn’t the scenario itself, but rather the idea that our behavior during the crisis might “come back and bite us” at some point as things begin to calm down. The fact is our actions – good, bad, or indifferent – will have consequences, both immediate and in the future. We need to consider both the intended and unintended consequences of our actions. As a Christian, I believe we cannot abandon our beliefs and values for survival in a crisis. It worries me that some folks seem willing to do so…
