Conflicted: Prep for WW3 – What Would You Do?

Conflicted: BEFORE the SHTF!

Conflicted is a Survival Card Game.  Each card in the deck has a scenario that will stretch how you would respond in an SHTF situation.  What would you do?  Leave your thoughts in the comment section below!

SCENARIO – Russia, China, Iran, North Korea and Venezuela declared war against the United States due to the death of the dollar, which led to a complete collapse of the global fiat money system.  They blame the US government for ruining the global financial markets and are using propaganda to get the support of their own people.

Your country’s President has gone on TV and declared that there are rough times ahead and that all citizens need to prepare for World War 3.  What would you do after hearing that?

I would put plastic around the entire basement with a separate room for contamination clean up order more potassium iodide, ammo, dehydrated food, look for Geiger counter, contamination gear, fill all 55 gal barrels with water, read the books I have on nuclear fallout gather family wait for launch to move into basement. put the rest of computers and things in faraday cage I have ready. would probably be too late for these last preps but would keep doing till you can’t do any more. pray

Hmm. That would be a lot of prepping to try to do quickly. Most preps should already be in place. Actual declarations of war just aren’t done anymore, not since WWII. It would be a softer-edged escalation of ‘tensions before the major action, or it would be sudden pre-emptive action.

If soft-edged, there would be a prepping frenzy by 80% of the population. Bad time to make a last grocery run. If sudden, you’d need to hunker down with whatever you had.

Where my homestead is, a direct hit (blast damage) is highly unlikely. Fallout plumes are also less likely. As such, most of our war situation would be the collapse of the economy and/or grid.

If WWII has a soft-edged start, I would see about getting some more stored gasoline and (if the stores aren’t too crazy) top up on foods. Make the stored stuff last longer. Might try to convince adult son and daughter-in-law to relocate at the homestead while transportation is possible. They’re far too close to NYC.

Other than that, I ought to be fairly well ready already.

We have a good amount of food and water stored but since I already have a well permit, I’d hire a driller and put in a deep well to assure my family’s water supply. I’d use solar to power the pump and house the inverter for the pump in a faraday cage. I’d cover all my raised bed gardens with plastic to catch any fallout. We already have NBC filters on our AC/Heating systems and our home seals tight. I’d also get a bunch of cheap plastic ponchos, nitrile gloves, and shoe covers in case I HAD to go outside the first two weeks after the nukes fell (that gear goes with my NBC mask and filter.

I’d buy another inverter and charge controller for my whole home solar system and put them–as well as a backup generator–in a faraday cage. My Comms gear and laptop would also go in a faraday cage.

Then I’d pray the world would come to its senses before we exterminated ourselves.

I see this as more an economic event than a full frontal war. China does not want a war with the West. It will decimate their economy. The only one with significant nuclear weapons is Russia. The Unites States has nuclear armed submarines placed all around the world. Any first strike will meet with a full retaliatory strike. In that event any land based invasion is unlikely. You largest threat will be those here who did not prepare.

Should it be an economic event then I would inventory my preps and purchase much of the high use items as I can. This includes fuels, reloading supplies and foods with a relatively short term shelf life and . Other than that we have all we’ll need for a year or more.

My first priority is to ensure the safety of my family.
My second priority is to reassess the situation as needed and determine how best I can serve my country.
